#2011 MACBOOK PRO SKINS CRACKED#
I plan on living out of my car and using this daily, something I did with my 2011 fine, but it sounds like I'll end up with a cracked screen in 6 months.Īny thoughts or advice? Are these Macs really that fragile? I don't think I need to go full rugged laptop but I was hoping to at least be able to put it in a backpack. I try to be gentle but I'll be using it outdoors in the elements (not rain obviously) and when I travel it would be in a padded sleeve and then a backpack so it might get the odd knock here and there from whatever else is in my bag despite my best intentions at keeping it safe. I was going to get a 14 inch MacBook Pro, as it was small enough to travel with and I could do some video editing on the road again, but from many accounts the screen is quite fragile and doesn't like any pressure on the lid. It's still quite useable for most tasks, though I stopped editing videos about 3 years ago on it. Real wood and stone skins specially designed to protect your new 13-inch MacBook Pro (M1, 2020). I give it a birthday once every couple of years but generally speaking, I'm not pedantic about cleaning the screen or the keyboard etc. I've taken it on trips overseas and around my country and while I haven't trashed it, it's come into contact with the elements. I upgraded the hard drive to an SSD and put 16 gb of RAM in it and it's survived a great deal longer than I thought it would. I've had my 2011 MacBook Pro for a decade (duh) and it's been great.
